Dr. Stuart Brown spent his life researching the value of play across the lifespan. He found that there are 8 different ways we all engage in play - yes, even adults! According to his Play Personalities, I am:

  • I am a storyteller. I love creating characters, exploring different perspectives, and shaping journeys. Screenwriting and playwriting are two of my favorite hobbies, and I love expressing meaning and connecting with others through narrative.

  • I am a kinesthete. I feel free and connected to myself when I’m engaging in movement. I enjoy aerial fitness, climbing, stretching, and going on walks.

  • I am an explorer. I love researching and learning new things, exploring new places, and connecting with people who expand my understanding of the world

FUN FACTS:

• I’m a huge animal lover and have two cats.

• I love puzzles and board games (especially Scrabble).

• Writing is one of my favorite hobbies.

• I worked as a child maltreatment prevention researcher prior to becoming a therapist.

About Jenny

I work with children ages 2–10 and feel deeply honored to support children and families on their journey toward healing and connection. I am passionate about creating a safe, nurturing space where children can feel seen, supported, and free to explore their feelings and experiences through play. I hold a deep belief in every child’s innate capacity for growth and healing, and I see play as a natural way for children to process and integrate their experiences. My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in child-centered play therapy, integrating principles of interpersonal neurobiology.  I am a licensed social worker with a master’s degree in social work from Indiana University and am currently in the process of becoming a Registered Play Therapist.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy reading, writing, practicing aerial arts, cuddling with my cats, and spending time with friends.
